I showed up with a top conditioned dog and won in 1 hour, and 10 minutes. The next dog I worked was with a treadmill plus roadwork and walk. She too, was in good shape and won in 1hour and 15minutes, if I remember correctly. I lost with one the same day but it was not because of my conditioning. The next thing I found out when working a dog is that they can be put in shape most anyway a person sees fit. Since I was working on a job most of the time, the next thing I started working on was an easy way to work a dog. "THIS CONTEST IS CAJUN RULES AS I UNDERSTAND”
CAJUN RULES
This is a set of rules that was set out by G. A.(Gaboon) Trahan. Called Cajun rules. I know of one more set of rules called the same thing or very little different. But there is enough that if you ever match under these rules, make sure you and the other handler get with the referee before the match and get everything clear. A male dog becomes eligible to be placed on the R.O.M. list if he has sired four or more champions. The R.O.M. dog will be awarded one point for every champion he has sired and will receive one additional point if any of the offspring should go on to become a Grand Champion. The rules are the same for bitches to get on the Register of Merit list, except,a bitch need only be the dam of three (3) Champions to gain a spot on the list.
